Condensate Polishing Unit (CPU)
High-purity Water Recovery for High-pressure Boiler Systems

Technology Overview

Condensate Polishing Units (CPUs) are critical components in power generation and industrial steam systems where condensate from steam cycles must be treated before reuse. WOG Technologies Limited designs and installs advanced condensate polishing systems to ensure that dissolved solids, corrosion products and impurities are effectively removed from return condensate.

Our CPU systems are engineered to protect high-pressure boilers and turbines by ensuring that feedwater purity consistently meets the strictest conductivity and silica specifications. By integrating ion exchange and filtration into a compact, automated skid, we offer high-performance CPU water treatment solutions for both continuous and batch operations.

How it Works

Condensate from steam systems often carries iron, copper, silica and other impurities resulting from corrosion, scaling and mechanical wear. In a typical CPU, the condensate passes through prefilters and ion exchange resins that remove dissolved ions and suspended matter.

Our systems feature:

  • Strong acid cation and mixed-bed resins
  • Optional degasification and fine filtration stages

FAQs

Our systems consistently deliver condensate with conductivity < 0.2 µS/cm and silica < 10 ppb, depending on condensate feed quality and operational design.

Regeneration frequency depends on condensate load and quality. Our SCADA systems predict resin exhaustion and automate regeneration without interrupting operations.

Oil-contaminated condensate requires pre-treatment. We integrate oil removal systems such as coalescers and activated carbon filters where needed.

Yes. CPUs help maximize water recovery by reusing high-quality condensate, reducing the load on ZLD systems and improving their overall efficiency.

We offer customized polishing units with high-purity resin beds and rigorous material compatibility checks for use in nuclear facilities.
